Last post on the anniversary of Teethgrinder. After the release of the single we purchased some new tech to help us play the samples live. A Drum Kat Pad (not pictured) and an Akai S1000 sampler. Before this we got through Babyteeth, Pleasure Death and the Nurse rehearsal sessions using only a Casio SK-5 and a Boss DSD-2 Sampler /Delay pedal to trigger the extra sounds and samples. Michael had the Casio on top of his amp and Andy had the pedal on the floor. Andy still uses the Boss pedal to this day. Released on this day in 1992, our single Teethgrinder. It got to number 30 in the UK charts and was featured on the video game Road Rash. The riffs popped into Andy’s head during a long bus journey from Belfast to Carlow (via Dublin) to the rented house where the band were writing and rehearsing for what was to be their Nurse album. Without a recording device he nearly drove himself mad trying to keep singing the riffs to himself (internally) during the trip, writing down the fret positions in a notebook. On arrival the band spent a long day putting an arrangement together. That evening they binged vhs cassettes (anyone remember them? 😀) and got the sample idea from a Channel Four documentary. Appropriately, not a lot of sleep was had during the making of this track. Obligatory ICYMI post- “High Anxiety” is getting a re-issue and the pre-order is now live! Very fond memories of making and touring this album plus delighted it will now be avails on vinyl for the very first time. All audio remastered from original tapes and the 2CD set includes a ton of bonus tunes pulled from our archive. Coming Nov 20th.

“Heads up for anyone looking to pre-order one of the ‘splatter’ vinyls of the HIGH ANXIETY re-issue. We were led to believe it would be online today along with all the other pre-order options but for some reason it didn’t happen (ie.not our fault ;)) Sorry about that! Alrighty then, looks like “High Anxiety” is finally getting a re-issue kind courtesy @mercurystudios !

First time on vinyl (tasty ltd ‘high anxiety’ splatter variant) plus a 2CD set with original album and 2nd cd with 18 bonus b-side/alts/demos sourced from the bands archives. Audio all fully remastered and package includes full lyrics.
