Hello everyone,

I used to be active on the old Teethgrinder.com forums run by Rene, this is going back to 2000 - 2001 I think? Feels like a bloody long time ago when I write it down. Already recognise a couple of names from those days..
Anyway, Therapy? are playing near me in November so I thought I'd grab a ticket, then stumbled across this page.

I've never really stopped listening to Therapy?, but I haven't really listened to anything after High Anxietey. So I guess I need to do a bit of homework before I see them, what are people's reccomendations album-wise? Any particular songs that tend to get played Live that I should know?

There seems to be a lot of shite spam postings on the WoM recently.  I assume everyone sees it, and it is not just my personal settings that are allowing me to delve into the world of small penis pics or practicing authorisation letters.

As fun as they all are, is there any way to block the bots from the site?

There ara a few riffs the song uses.

1) the crunchy chord bit.  Even a blind monkey knows this one

Note the droning open e string. That causes the wibbly sound. this riff is alternate strummed except for the bends.  This is what all the tabs have wrong. b= bend up a bit.

Just play e5 c5 e5 c5 d5 under it at the obvious spots.

There's the chorus riff.

some of the notes can be played in other spots on the guitar. feel free to choose which feels easiest to play for you, and or sounds better.  This riff is played with variations, so change it up a bit by leaving repeated notes out, or adding extra slides or hammerons to make it sound cool. For the most part, repeated notes are dropped some of the time in later repetitions.
the chords played over it are

e5                      c5                   g5                              d5 
             I've got nothing to do       but hang around and get screwed up on 
you

same chords are for when the riff is done without the chorus.

The second verse does very heavy palm muting, and throws in open strings during the power chord changes in it. Usually an open A.

for "i don't want to know about anything like that"
on the word anything, throw in an OPEN G chord, and on "like" throw in an open D chord.  I saw it in a live video..

On the C5 chord just before the first rep of the chorus riff, add in the open E string to make it into a major chord.

Except for the crunchy chord bit, most chords are at least slightly muted.

That just leaves the second wibbly riff, which on the second rep adds in a few more bends.

and under the end of it, the g and d open chords are played, as if it was the "i don't wanna know about anything like that" bit.

and finally the bit under the end of the last chorus. you really need to have a third guitar to do it right, but you can compress it onto one guitar like so

second rep for the last fourth of the riff you stop the low drone and just play the high with a changed rhythm. at the start of the riff mostly mute the high string by fretting it OVER the fret, and slowly move it back behind it as you keep the riff up. This slowly brings in the higher note.

and that's pretty much it. you may see other references to "low in the mix" stuff and guitar 3. for the most part you will have to leave it out when playing live with only two guitars, except for a very quiet 3rd fret drone on the high e during the screw that bits. it's hard to actually do live.
